Ambassador Al Jacquet

Ambassador Al Jacquet  firmly believes that in order to be an effective leader, one must first be a good servant and serving this community is what he has done in the past and continues to do today.

Al Jacquet, a Delray Beach resident since 1990, was elected to the Delray Beach City Commission on March 13, 2012. He attended the local public schools system, graduating from Atlantic High School. In high school, Mr. Jacquet was in the band, I.B. program and participated in 3 varsity sports. He went on to attend DePauw University earning his bachelor’s degree in economics. He also attended the University of Westminster in London, England developing a passion for city planning and organizational management. Al has served as an interpreter for immigration court; he speaks four languages.

In furthering his education, Al decided to go to St. Thomas University School of Law where he quickly became President of the Student Bar Association. He successfully obtained his Juris Doctorate degree and is licensed to practice in the state of Florida. Not long after graduation from law school, Al worked for a Broward County legal firm while remaining actively involved with the Delray Beach community. He was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Board in 2009 and served as the Vice-Chair until his election to the Commission. Mr. Jacquet most recently served as a Legislative Aide to the Florida House of Representatives, handling complex pieces of legislation as well as working through the challenging process of balancing a $70 billion state budget.
