5th Annual Save Haiti Bike Ride

We hope you will get your bike and join us for the 5th Annual Save Haiti Bike Ride on January 10, 2015. It’s an enjoyable and worthy event. The Save Haiti Bike Ride also raises awareness about the dire situation in Haiti and remembers the victims of the January 12, 2010 earthquake. Your participation helps support education and provides 21st century skills to youth in Haiti. 

Save Haiti Bike Ride

The event starts at Moca Plaza in Miami and ends in Palm Beach County at the cultural plaza in Lake Worth. Are you a beginner or more of a casual rider? no worries! We got you covered. You can chose to ride your city, county or just a few miles. You can also join in at any of the stops in Broward or Palm Beach County. For specific time and location see below.


Schedule: Saturday, January 10, 2015
7:00 AM – Registration at MOCA plaza –
7:45 AM – Departure from MOCA plaza bike ride kick off
9:00 AM – Rest Stop #1 Young Circle
9:45 AM – Depart from Young Circle
12:00 PM – Rest Stop #2 Lighthouse Point ( Dan Witt Park ) – Lunch
1:00 PM – Depart from Lighthouse Point ( Dan Witt Park )
2:30 PM – Rest Stop #3 Toussaint L’Ouverture High School
3:00 PM – Depart from Toussaint L’ouverture High School
4:30 PM – Arrive at Lake Worth City Hall Annex Cultural Plaza – Closing Ceremony

Save Haiti Bike Ride

Bike Route:
Depart from MOCA , 770 NE 125th Terrace, North Miami, 33161 Cycling North on West Dixie Highway to NE 215th Street Turn Right at NE 215th Street and cross RR Tracks Turn left onto SE 1st Ave Turn Right onto Old Federal Highway Turn right on SE 5th Street Turn left onto US 1 north to Young Circle, Hollywood ( The Miami Casual Riders – Approx. 10 miles)

Rest stop #1 Young Circle Park – 1 N Young Cir, Hollywood, FL 33022
Cycling north on US 1 – Turn left on S.E 7th street – Take Right onto S.E 3rd Ave. Make right on E. Broward Blvd and make left on US 1.  Make right on NE 44th Street (after..Copan) – Turn left on NE 22nd Ave and turn left into Dan Witt Park –
 (Approx. 20 miles)

Rest Stop #2 Dan Witt Park- LightHouse Point – 4521 NE 22nd Ave., Pompano Beach, FL 33064
Turn Left on NE 22nd Ave Turn Right onto US 1 – Turn left onto E Linton Blvd – Turn right onto SW 10th Ave – Turn left onto SW 10th St. – Turn right onto SW 17th Ave. – Take the 2nd right onto SW 6th – Take the 2nd left onto SW 14th Ave. (The Broward Casual Riders -Approx. 12 miles)

Toussaint L’ouverture High School – 301 Southwest 14th Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444
Cycling east on W Atlantic Ave – Turn left onto NE 6th Ave / US-1 N / FL-5 / FL-811. Continue to follow US-1 N. Turn right onto Lake Ave / FL-802 to Lake Worth City Hall Annex Cultural Plaza – 414 Lake Ave., Lake Worth, FL, 33460 – Ride Finish Line ( The Palm Beach Casual Riders -Approx. 12 miles)

Save Haiti Bike Ride

Fees: To register online CLICK HERE or mail your registration form and payment to Color of Hope – P. O. Box 5621 Lake Worth, FL 33466. Early registration: $35 per person – After 12/22/2014: $45 per person. Discount available for team of 5 or more. The registration fee includes a t-shirt, food and drinks throughout the ride. Fee is waived for sponsored bikers.

Sponsored Bikers: This year, we are offering every biker an opportunity to make a greater impact  in Haiti. Bikers who would like to make the pledge and get sponsored should email [email protected] or call (786) 315-0625 for more information.


All bikers are required to bring their own bike and bring a bike helmet to wear throughout the ride. Upon signing into the ride at initial registration in North Miami or one of the rest stops, each biker will be provided with a T-shirt to wear throughout the ride. Please dress appropriately for the weather and the sporting activity. Please examine the schedule and route to be on time and decide the best starting point for you. Bikers can drop in and out of the ride between the two stops of their choosing. Only sponsored bikers are guaranteed a car ride back to their point of entry in the ride. All other bikers have to make personal arrangements to get back to their starting point as this is a one way ride that does not loop back.

Bikers will be provided with drinks throughout the ride to stay hydrated and with power snacks at each rest-stop. Support vehicles and volunteers will be accessible all the way through. If at any point a biker gets tired they will have access to sit it out in a support vehicle until the next rest stop. This ride is not a race we anticipate maintaining a mild pace between 10 and 12 mi per hour. Please warm up and prepare your body for an endurance ride in the days preceding the ride. Children under 15 years of age must have parental supervision throughout the ride.  Closing ceremony is scheduled at the last stop to thank and honor all the bikers and supporters.

Register for the Save Haiti Bike Ride now

Next January marks the 5th Annual Save Haiti Bike Ride and we would love for you to join us. Mark your calendar for January 10, 2015 for a fun, challenging and worthy event.


Besides getting in great shape and having fun, this bike ride event benefits Color of Hope, a non-profit organization, that is improving lives of the Haitian people by providing access to education, resources and a technological environment for our youth in Haiti to develop 21st century skills.


The event begins in Miami and ends in Palm Beach County at the cultural plaza in Lake Worth. If you are more of a casual rider, no worries! You do not have to do the entire ride. You can chose to ride your city, county or just a few miles. So, get ready… get set…start training!


Wait!!! One more thing, there are ways you can ensure that the 5th Annual Save Haiti Bike Ride is a success and that more children and families are empowered with education in Haiti.
