2011 National Haitian American Forum

    The National Haitian American Forum is an inclusive, informative and dynamic dialogue to address the primary concerns of Haitian Americans and the Haitian American immigrant communities across America, also known as the Haitian Diaspora.

    A variety of issues are discussed during the forum including our beloved country Haiti. The forum is created to educate, uplift, and empower the Haitian community by bringing people together and engaging them in thoughtful dialogue, leading the way to constructive action. NHAF is held during the last weekend in May in celebration of Haitian Heritage Month.

    11:00AM to 12: 30PM
    Networking lunch and Career Opportunity: A complimentary creole style lunch will be provided along with opportunity for individuals, companies and organizations to make a 5 minute presentation about their business. This will be a great atmosphere for our professionals, businesses and leaders in the community to network.

    12:45PM to 2:10PM
    Leaders of Tomorrow: This session will be comprised of a panel of young upcoming leaders in the Haitian community who will discuss the different issues from their own perspectives and how they envision bringing in the change to strengthen our community. They will also weigh in on the role of their generation in the building of a better Haiti.

    20 minutes Networking Break

    2:30PM to 3:40PM
    Doing Business with the IHRC: The Haitian Diaspora Representative on the Interim Haiti Reconstruction Commission (IHRC) Retired Major Joseph Bernadel will provide insight on how to do business with the Commission. This is a must for any individual or organization looking to help with the reconstruction of Haiti.

    4:00PM to 6:00PM
    Our Women Our Strength ( Fanm Se Fos Nou): Screening of “Poto Mitan” Haitian Women, Pillars of the Global Economy (50 min) Narration by Edwidge Dantica and followed by Q&A

    6:45PM to 9:15PM
